Just off the main strip, as you drive into Santa Teresa, you’ll find the welcoming (and beckoning) entrance to Hotel Tropico Latino.

You enter through a magical garden, overflowing with large palms and local flora and fauna. Tucked back into this oasis, you’ll find the reception house, where friendly staff accommodates your every need. There’s also a small but lovely pool (perfect for cooling off), and a centrally located, open-air bungalow restaurant that offers a fresh, healthy menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

As you continue through the property, you’ll reach the beautiful white sands of Playa Guiones, where numerous large palms stand strung with hammocks and decorated in a colorful carpet of lounge chairs – basically, the ultimate relaxing hideaway. Sit down, take a load off. Dig your toes into the first warm, then cooler depths of the powdery sand. Breathe in that fresh sea air. You’re in paradise!

As for accommodations, there are two different sides to the resort: the beautifully crafted bungalows, which lay scattered through the main garden, and then the suite house, which is set off to the right side of the property. Each bungalow is crafted from local woods and is surrounded by lush gardens; the bungalows feature luxury amenities, air conditioning, ceiling fans, hot water and a security safe. The beach-front suites are located in a separate and beautiful white house and offer a private saltwater pool and hot tub.

The full-service spa offers professional massages, wraps, exfoliating treatments, facials, and other services, including acupuncture, manicures, and pedicure. The yoga center features daily Vinyasa Flow yoga classes and retreats on the two beachfront, open-air decks.

The rooms are set over two levels, and each overlooks the pool or tropical gardens. Rooms have air-conditioning, flat-screen TV’s, a wardrobe and private bathrooms. Daily housekeeping service and a chef-prepared breakfast are included in every reservation. You can enjoy your daily breakfast either on the beautiful open-air terrace upstairs or in the comfort of your own room. (And is there anything more indulgent and vacation-appropriate than breakfast in bed?!)

The friendly and knowledgeable staff can organize daily activities, including paddle boarding, zip lining, and surfing. As a guest, you’ll also have access to complimentary beach gear, including bikes, chairs, umbrellas, snorkel gear, and boogie boards.

Bottom Line: All in all, Tropico Latino is your one-stop shop for rejuvenation and hospitality in paradise.
